who i am & my "why" -

I’m Shayla — a believer, photographer, wife, mother, and someone who really believes there is so much beauty in the ordinary, everyday life God has given us.

I love a beautiful wedding day — the dress, the flowers, the happy tears, all of it. But what I’m really passionate about is marriage beyond the wedding day. I deeply value marriage — not just planning a wedding, but the covenant you’re stepping into and the life you’re choosing to build together long after the flowers are gone and the dress is packed away.

I’m not just excited about your wedding day — I’m excited about the marriage that comes after it. The growing, changing, building a home, raising a family, walking through hard seasons, and choosing one another again and again. Your wedding photos matter, not just because they capture one incredible day, but because they become part of the story you’ll look back on through all the years that follow.

I deeply value marriage, family, and the legacy we build in the everyday. One of my favorite things is getting to photograph the beginning of a marriage and, hopefully, getting to document the seasons that come after it too.

That same heart carries into the way I photograph families. I love documenting the people God has given you and the season you’re living in right now — the tiny hands, growing babies, wild toddlers, changing families, and all the little things that someday won’t feel so little.

To me, photos become more valuable with time because they hold pieces of a life that keeps changing. Some of my favorite photographs are the ones that feel ordinary now, but will mean everything years from now.

My hope is that the photos we create together don’t just look beautiful. I want them to feel like your life — honest, joyful, meaningful, and full of the people you love most. I want to document more than what things looked like. I want to preserve what this season felt like.

Above all else, I want this work to honor the Lord. I want the way I serve people, the way I document marriage and family, and the way I use the gifts He’s given me to reflect Him well. That is at the heart of why I do what I do.
